Boston in Game 1 of the ALCS http://www.chicagocubsteamshop.com/authentic-david-ross-jersey , before the Red Sox evened things up with a 7-5 win on Sunday night. The series now shifts to Houston, with the first pitch of Game 3 scheduled for 5:09 p.m. ET from Minute Maid Park. TBS will have the broadcast.Ahead you'll find a few bold predictions for the game, including the final score. Nathan Eovaldi Continues Boosting his Free-Agent StockNathan EovaldiBillie Weiss/Boston Red Sox/Getty ImagesAfter missing the 2017 season recovering from a second Tommy John surgery, Nathan Eovaldi returned strong for the Tampa Bay Rays, posting a 4.26 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 53 strikeouts in 57 innings over 10 starts. That was good enough for the Red Sox to bite at the trade deadline, and he pitched to a 3.33 ERA over 54 innings spanning11 starts and one relief following the trade. He took the ball in Game 3 of the ALDS and tossed a gem in his postseason debut, allowing just five hits and one earned run over seven innings. He again gets the start in Game 3 of the ALCS, and he'll be looking to add a few more zeroes to his upcoming foray into free agency with another strong start. The 28-year-old allowed seven hits and four earned runs in six innings against the Astros back on June 20 when he was still pitching for the Rays. He's 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in two career starts at Minute Maid Park. Jose Altuve Keeps Things CloseElsa/Getty ImagesOff to a quiet 1-for-8 start through two games, look for Jose Altuve to make some noise for the Astros in Game 3.Altuve hit .310/.388/.634 with two doubles, seven home runs and 14 RBI in 80 plate appearances last postseason, and there's a reason he's a career .316/.365/.453 hitter over eight big league seasons. He's simply too good of a hitter to keep quiet all series. The 28-year-old also has strong numbers in his career against Eovaldi, having gone5-for-15 with one double and two home runs. That includes a 3-for-4 performance earlier this season that included a double and a home run. It's a small sample size, and batter vs. pitchers splits can often be attributed more to chance than anything else, but it's still reason enough to call Altuve a player to watch for Houston in Game 3.Look for a multi-hit performance and a long ball Jose Quintana Jersey , as Eovaldi pitches well, but the Astros are able to keep things close thanks to their offensive spark plug. The Red Sox Take Control of the SeriesMookie BettsMaddie Meyer/Getty ImagesAfter splitting the first two games, there's no question Game 3 will be pivotal in this series. The pitching matchup of Dallas Keuchel and Eovaldi could help keep the offenses quiet in the early going, but don't expect a pitcher's duel.Look for both starters to run into some trouble the second time through the batting order.Eovaldi bends but doesn't break, while the Red Sox put a crooked number on the board in the fifth inning to seize control of the game and the series.Jackie Bradley Jr. delivered the big blow in Game 2 with a three-run double. This time, it's Mookie Betts who gets the job done with a three-run home run that puts Boston up for good.Final Score:Red Sox 6, Astros 2All stats courtesy of Baseball Reference, unless otherwise noted. GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Listed at 5-foot-7 and 165 pounds, Nick Madrigal doesn’t look like a major leaguer. Then he takes the field.Madrigal is right at home in his first training camp with the Chicago White Sox.“I feel comfortable out here,” he said Monday. “I wasn’t nervous at all or anything. I was just excited to be out here, kind of just back on the field. That was the longest offseason I had ever in my life.”Madrigal was selected by the White Sox with the No. 4 pick in last year’s amateur draft and signed for a bonus of just over $6.4 million. The second baseman then led Oregon State to the NCAA title before playing 43 games in Chicago’s minor league system, finishing at Class-A Winston-Salem.Madrigal made a smooth transition to pro ball, showing off his impressive approach at the plate by hitting .303 with more walks (seven) than strikeouts (five). Whether he returns to Winston-Salem or begins the season with Double-A Birmingham, he could make his major league debut at some point this summer.“He’s a very polished player http://www.chicagocubsteamshop.com/authentic-david-ross-jersey ,” White Sox manager Rick Renteria said. “I think now it’s probably just experience, you know, getting to play professional baseball at a different level, allowing his skills to play and you know, as we mentioned before, guys like that, if they put it together they move pretty quickly. They pretty much tell us where they should be. We’re hoping that he’s one of those guys.“He’s very calm, very collected, very confident, quietly confident. And we hope that plays well, it should play well for him.”It has played well for Madrigal all his life, from his prep career at Elk Grove High School near Sacramento, California, all the way through to his time with the Beavers.“Throughout my life I’ve always played in the biggest games,” said Madrigal Dustin Pedroia Jersey , who turns 22 on March 5. “I’ve won at every single level I’ve ever been at, going back to high school, I mean even Cal Ripken league. I’ve played in the biggest games that I could possibly play in and I plan on continuing to do that moving forward.”Madrigal was drafted by Cleveland in the 17th round coming out of high school, but he decided to go to Oregon State. He hit .367 with three homers, 34 RBIs and 15 steals during his final season with the Beavers, rebounding nicely after being sidelined by a broken left wrist.Madrigal was among three Oregon State players to go in the first round last year, joining outfielder Trevor Larnach and shortstop Cadyn Grenier. He said his experience in Corvallis plays a huge role in how he approaches the game.“I was very grateful for all the stuff they taught me at Oregon State,” he said. One of the biggest concerns about Madrigal is his lack of power. He had only seven extra-base hits during his first stint in the minors last year.Getting stronger was one of Madrigal’s biggest offseason goals. He hit the weight room while he anxiously waited to play ball again.“Baseball’s been my life, no matter if we’re in season or out of season,” he said. “When you don’t play that many games, you’re ready to get back to it.”NOTES: OF Daniel Palka said he felt good a day after he left a spring training game with left hamstring tightness. He blamed the trouble on dehydration. “It was just my fault,” he said. “I didn’t hydrate well at all that night or during the day while we were out on the field.” … LHP Carlos Rodon threw 40 pitches in a simulated game. Rodon is one of Chicago’s top candidates to start on opening day. “Just gradually getting into it,” he said.
